Christmas Creek Biodiversity Restoration

Join CVA as we partner with members of Lamington Landcare Group to remove weeds growing along the upper reaches of Christmas Creek and its tributaries and plant native species to re-generate this region. By carrying out this work we envisage an increase in the abundance and spread of native plants which will create more suitable habitat for animal species.

Volunteer Gardner/Handyman

As a gardener/handyman volunteer you will be assisting in keeping the grounds of Franklin House in great order - mowing lawns, tending shrubs and tidying up leaves, etc. Duties as a handyman may include - window washing, general repair work, e.g. tighten handles, touch-up painting plus other duties as required. Wetlands play a critical role in flood mitigation, water and carbon storage, and supporting an abundance of unique local plant and animal species. Conservation Volunteers are building a sustainable strategy for the management of this area and invite volunteers to be a part of this management with activities including weed removal, watering, tree trimming, track maintenance, tree planting, wildlife monitoring and surveys. Tuesday Twilight Toadbusting in Darwin

This project aims to help reduce and control numbers of cane toads in local areas of Darwin. Cranebrook Wetlands are not only home to native wildlife, including long neck turtles, frogs and native fish, but also help filter the water for our rivers, which eventually ends up back in our homes. Chill Out days in the Community - Support for adults with an intellectual disability

Event: Volunteer support for Legacy Week Fundraising 2018

Legacy week runs from Sunday 2nd September to Saturday 8th September. Volunteers are required to sell merchandise and badges at various locations in the South Gold Coast Tallebudgera - Tweed Heads area. This is their biggest fundraiser for the year, come along and be part of the team. Shifts are arranged by the coordinator and you will be paired with an experienced buddy. Volunteer Hospitality Staff - Franklin House

Just a short drive from Launceston CBD, Franklin House is a house museum. Franklin House is also available for hire for private events such as weddings or corporate events; and there are a variety of special events throughout the year including weddings and our Christmas Carols and Cake events. As volunteer hospitality staff you may be required to assist in the Tea Room and Gift Shop, assisting with visitor information and be asked to assist with special events.
