And each week, they offer a few hours of their time to make a huge impact to some of the most vulnerable people in Melbourne’s east. If you like story-writing, chatting over coffee, sharing a hobby or skill, dog-walking, driving; or if knitting blankets is more your speed; if you have a little free time and lots of compassion, and want a volunteer role with a difference, we would love to speak with you.

Wildlife Hospital Visitor Interaction and Laundry

The primary focus of this role will be performing laundry duties to support animal care, has a cleaning and hygiene component which is a major part of the role (70%) . The remainder of the role involves informing sanctuary visitors about the hospital and the animals currently being treated.

Assist with Horses & Riders/Client Care

Assist disabled clients with horse riding sessions. Prepare horses for classes and lead riders, arena set-up, horse training, horse floating. There are also positions which do not invove horse handling such as administration, work on the committee, fundraising, volunteer coordinator etc. Office hours are Tues-Thurs 9.00am - 2.30pm during school terms.
