Updating information on environmental and health impacts of gardening products

Sustainable Gardening Australia has a database of over 1000 products used in gardening. The database records the impacts of the chemicals in the products and their safety for humans and the environment and gives them a rating on a 5-star basis. The products need to be re-examined by looking at the manufacturers' information and the Material Safety Data sheets, registering the impacts on humans, wildlife and waterways and entering the information on to Access forms.

Volunteers at the Museum assist in a number of different ways from the front- of-house reception who meet and greet Museum visitors and to behind-the-scenes work as well as guiding people throughout the Museum. Meet other volunteers who also have a respect for our history and enjoy the company of other like-minded people.
