They are temporary pools of water that provide habitat for distinctive plants and animals. Discovered in 2001, they were assessed to be of high wetland value, with significant flora and uncommon aquatic fauna. Prior to their discovery, they were used for agricultural practices and recreational activities - farming, grazing and even a golf driving range!
