    Currently 18,000 pieces of plastic are estimated to float in every square kilometre of ocean. 276 species worldwide including 77 Australian species are impacted by marine debris. Not only does the removal of marine debris reduces the negative impact it has on both local and worldwide wildlife but if we can determine the source of the debris we can target those sources to reduce waste

    Sustainable Gardening Australia has a database of over 1000 products used in gardening. The database records the impacts of the chemicals in the products and their safety for humans and the environment and gives them a rating on a 5-star basis. The products need to be re-examined by looking at the manufacturers' information and the Material Safety Data sheets, registering the impacts on humans, wildlife and waterways and entering the information on to Access forms.
