Maroondah Toy Library is a volunteer-run charitable organisation operating since 1979 to provide an affordable toy lending service for all families in the greater Maroondah area. Membership provides access to a range of 3800 high-quality toys, games, puzzles and activities appropriate for children aged 0-6 years of all abilities - we operate like a book library, but lend toys. Fees are kept affordable and concessional rates are offered to ensure all children have equal access to our service. We currently support over 500 families and our members contribute approximately 140 hours per week towards running our busy sessions. Our mission is to provide preschool-age children from the City of Maroondah and surrounding areas a quality, affordable educational toy library service with a wide range of stimulating toys appropriate for their education and development. We encourage caregivers to engage in their child’s play and seek to raise awareness of the importance and value of play.
