Daily activities with residents can include but are not limited to games, concerts, discussion groups, art and craft, board games, walks, gardening, reading and individual visits.
Silver Chain social centres offer a comfortable, home-like setting where seniors can socialise, relax and have fun. We need friendly and empathetic volunteers to help create a home from home for our social centre clients. Do you have experience in Lip Reading? Do you have the ability to teach people with hearing loss, the basics of Lip Reading? This organisation is running a program to support adults with hearing loss, to develop other ways to communicate and to be able to engage in conversations. We are looking for a person with teaching or tutoring abilities, patience, understanding of hearing loss and some lip reading experience to engage the group. Required on Thursdays - 9.30am to 12pm.
