JRS Women's Space Volunteer

JRS Women’s Space is a women’s only ‘safe space’ that offers community activities and social programs to asylum seeking and refugee women and their children. JRS is looking for generalist volunteers to conduct welcome duties, assist with childcare, hospitality and activities at the space in Parramatta. Women with lived refugee experience and/or proficiency in a relevant community language are highly encouraged to apply.

We require Tutors with a formal qualification in Education, or equivalent experience teaching children - such as overseas teaching experience.

Do you have mentoring skills. Are you able to work with migrant/refugee primary school aged children. If so this may be the role for you. Requirements- Assisting Primary or High School children with their homework. Must be patient and empathetic towards children attempting to integrate. Must have the necessary educational, training and mentoring skills experience for this role. Hours; 1 day per week. Primary - Monday 3pm-5pm. High School Tuesday/Thursday 3pm - 5 pm.

Stitch Sewing Program - Assistant
