Caring Neighbourhood Program - City of Victor Harbor

Logo for Caring Neighbourhood Program - City of Victor Harbor

The Caring Neighbourhood Program connects volunteers with people who are frail, aged or socially isolated for the purpose of companionship and joining together in activities. Activities may be as simple as sharing a cup of tea and a chat, going for a walk with someone, taking someone shopping or accompanying them to a craft group. The Caring Neighbourhood Program is a project that is designed to help people to form long lasting friendships through matching volunteers with residents who are frail, aged and socially isolated. It is jointly funded and proudly supported by HACC, Alexandrina and Victor Harbor Councils in cooperation with CLASS and others. CLASS (Community Living and Support Services Incorporated) is a non-government, not for profit, charitable organisation that supports people with disabilities, the frail, aged and the socially isolated to become more involved in their community. We are seeking volunteers who are prepared to give as little as half an hour per week to spend with someone who may be otherwise isolated from the community.
