The Cowboys Community Foundation NRL Cowboys House exists to make a difference in the lives of North Queensland students and young people and particular those who are disadvantaged or at risk. Creating opportunities, building resilience and inspiring futures is what we do. The foundation is creating real and life-impacting improvements in education outcomes for these young people in four priority areas: 1. Encouraging good school attendance patterns in the primary school years through our Try for 5! program which is focused on Queensland schools with a poor attendance record. 2. Inspiring positive and healthy life choices during the intermediate secondary years through our Try Time! program which is engaging 9-10 students in workshops designed to build personal resilience; 3. Supporting Indigenous students to complete a full secondary education through our Learn, Earn, Legend program; 4. Providing access to secondary education for young people from remote Indigenous communities through the NRL Cowboys boarding facility in Townsville.
