Family Drug Support provides up to date information on all aspects of alcohol and drug use relative to the families of people who use substances. FDS also operates a National 24 hr, 7 day a week telephone support service for families affected by alcohol and other drug issues.
Family Drug Support runs training in most states for people interested in volunteering on our 24/7 support line.
Applicants need access to a landline phone or a modern mobile, and to commit to one shift on our line every 3 weeks or so for a minimum of 12 months.
We are looking for people who are great listeners, empathetic and non-judgmental, and who support harm reduction approach to alcohol and other drug use.
