Bush Fire Service (BFS) volunteers play a significant and vital role in helping to ensure their local communities are safe. BFS brigades are established by Local Governments to provide a volunteer fire prevention and suppression service in areas where no cover or limited cover is provided by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services’ career Fire and Rescue Service, Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Volunteer Fire and Emergency Service or Parks and Wildlife.
