Extended Families

Extended Families works with a group of volunteers who believe that having joy in your life and being a part of your community is important for everyone. To that end, we support children and young people with a disability aged 0-30 in Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula to build friendships and connect with their community. Extended Families supports diverse families and is seeking the same in our volunteers. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we would love to hear from you! No specific qualifications are required. Our volunteers all bring different life experiences and skill sets to the role. Our volunteers assist us within the Volunteer Match program and our Recreational programs. Our Volunteer Match Program connects families with a volunteer to assist a child or young person with a disability and be a supportive connection for the family. Our recreation program support children to build skills, try new activities and experience being part of a community. Depending on your commitment and availability we can work with you to align you to a program in your area that best suits you. So you could be a family match volunteer, a recreation volunteer or both!
