The home of motorsport in Bundaberg. Bundaberg Kart Club is one of the best Karting facilities in Queensland and is renowned around the country. The Bundaberg club was established in 1968 with a track being built at the current site in early 1970. Bundaberg kart club is a member of Karting Queensland & operate under the guidelines of Karting Australia. Karting is ‘racing for all ages.’ Under the Karting Australia rules children as young as 6 years of age can obtain their first licence. They can start to race at 7 years of age, and some continue to compete into their 70’s. Very few sports can boast such a diverse range of ages for its competitors. Karting develops and nurtures road safety and driving skills. A great many karting facilities across the country are also used to facilitate and teach important road safety programs that benefit the general community. Karting Australia estimates that the economic contribution of the sport of Karting to the Australian economy is more than $60 million annually. The Bundaberg club has a proud tradition of running state and national championships throughout the years. In fact the Bundaberg club organized and ran the first national dirt track championships in 1973 followed by National dirt track championships in 1984, Queensland Bitumen state titles in 1989, state bitumen titles 1992 and the Queensland state championships in 2003 and again in 2013. Bundaberg kart club holds, on average, 8 race meets each year. The club relies entirely on the efforts of volunteers to provide this opportunity to the karting community.
