The Seed Library Inc

The Seed Library’s role is to encourage children to grow food. We have developed three programmes centred around the provision of seed to schools, organisations and community groups. Seeds in Schools delivers seed libraries to WA Primary Schools for teachers to engage children in Science, STEM, Health, Environment and Sustainability. Saving Seeds for Schools operates from 10 sites including Department of Justice, Aged Care and Community Gardens to grow, harvest food and collect seed for the Seeds in Schools programme. Our Bush Tucker Seed Boxes are to provide schools with edible native seeds to grow and incorporates an Indigenous Art project at Banksia Hill Detention Centre. We currently have 63 schools in WA participating with 10,710 seed packets available to 17,345 students.
