The aim of the Disabled Surfers Association is to facilitate a safe and exciting surfing experience for those in our community who are dealing with either a physical or intellectual disability. The program we run has been developed to ensure the trained supervising volunteer ratio between participants and trainers is consistent with the disability of the person. Our beach activities allow participants to improve their current skills and we provide an opportunity for isolated or disadvantaged people to become more physically active. The programs objective is to build social inclusion, improve self confidence and self esteem as well as experiencing the joy of surfing a wave!
