Since 1994, Candlebark Community Nursery has been dedicated to helping local people improve the natural environment. We focus on propagating and growing an extensive range of indigenous flora, from groundcovers and medium-sized understorey plants to huge eucalyptus trees. We supply plants for revegetation projects by councils, Landcare groups etc, which help preserve local species of flora and fauna. Grown from local seed or cuttings, these plants have evolved to suit our climate over millions of years. We also sell low-cost native plants to the public, so customers can grow indigenous plants in their own gardens, increasing habitat for wildlife and maintaining biodiversity. Candlebark offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including: • Collecting, sorting, and cataloguing seeds • Propagating plants from seeds and cuttings • Preparing stock for sale • Assisting in the retail area • Undertaking maintenance and administrative tasks
