The main role of Whitehorse Historical Society is to foster historical interest and knowledge by preserving the history of the Whitehorse Area by managing (including within an accredited museum) the collection of historic artifacts, documents and photographs relating to the Whitehorse area. Volunteers also record oral history interviews of local residents.
