Strong & Capable Co-operative

Strong & Capable is a Co-operative of people with lived experience of disability, who have come together to take control of their lives by navigating life with disability and the National Disability Insurance Scheme. We recognise that leading a fulfilled life goes beyond addressing basic needs. While the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and other support programs play a critical role in providing essential services, there remains an important area often left unattended— social connectivity. By connecting and sharing in enriching experiences that bring joy to our lives, such as hobbies, art, sports, food and learning skills, we can bridge this gap. We are working to address social isolation and promote social connectivity through our regular community activities, as well as the Strong & Capable Peer Mentoring program. In Strong & Capable Peer Mentoring, we support the members of our community to lead a life of their choosing.
