Murdoch University Melville Cricket Club INC (supported by Volunteer Melville)

The club’s inception dates back to a social game of cricket played between a group of rough and tumble operators from Alcoa (led by Errol and Barry) and a bunch of more genteel north of the river boys (led by Terry Gaston and Geoff Yorath). The game was played in April 1972 on the banks of the Swan River near a convenient watering hole, the Nedlands Park Hotel. We’ve moved around a bit over the years but Melville and Murdoch grounds have always been where we play and come together. Today we fill multiple grades per season in the WASTCA competition. We have multiple grades to suit all playing levels and we'll even help you develop if you wish to play higher. Some of our best 1st Grade players started in our 7th XI.
