The Maryborough and District Committee on the Ageing Inc. (MADCOTA) was born through a vision of a small group of community members in 1971. The organisation came about from the recognition of the lack of a setting that enabled participation of all senior citizens regardless of income source, marital status or gender. MADCOTA is a not-for-profit incorporated organisation that is managed by a member elected Committee and is a registered Charity through Australian Charities and Not-For-Profit Commission (ACNC).
