Feminista Vinyl

Feminista Vinyl is a record shop run by women and non binary people celebrating female led, trans, non binary and gender non conforming inclusive bands and artists from all cultures. We sell new and used vinyl, CDs, cassettes, books, gifts and clothing. We work from a not-for- profit model, run by volunteers, with the aim of creating safety and community in our home in Coburg. We also host record store gigs, Open Mic and live music opportunities for our local community, focusing on giving a voice to female, trans, GNC and NB artists and performers. The shop is open weekends 11 to 4. We would love to have more volunteers on board who will get retail experience such as merchandising, using Square for sales as well as stock listing, mail orders, customer and community contact, as well as the warm and fuzzy feeling of contributing to the broader goal of promoting gender equity in music! We love stocking local Melbourne/Naarm artists as well as international so music/performing arts students who are interested in the music industry will get exposure to a wider range of musical genres and styles in-stock. Training will be provided to volunteers with the goal of volunteers working solo in the shop on weekends or with another volunteer if they can coordinate this. Occasionally volunteers can help out with planning community or in-store events.
