HeartKids is the only Australian charity dedicated to providing lifelong support, resources, and advocacy for the 250,000 people impacted by childhood-onset heart disease (CoHD). We provide connection and care informed by lived-experience to ensure no one faces this journey alone.
From diagnosis to transitioning through teens and into adult care, the for-life model at HeartKids is designed to bring practical supports, education and resources to all family members touched by congenital or acquired heart disease.
Every day eight children are diagnosed with CoHD and sadly four lives are lost. CoHD is one of the leading causes of infant death in Australia. There is no known cure.
