Cafs

Cafs (Child and Family Services, Ballarat Inc) has been a cornerstone of support for children and families in regional Victoria for 160 years. Our independent, community-driven approach, free from religious affiliations, allows us to focus solely on the needs of our community. Governed by a voluntary board of skilled leaders, we are fearless advocates for our children, young people and families. Our trauma-responsive approach, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), empowers clients to take control of their lives and overcome challenges. We are committed to making a meaningful difference for all, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTIQA+ individuals, people of all abilities and those from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds. We acknowledge our past role in the Stolen Generations. We are dedicated to breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma. By collaborating with other service providers and funders, we maximise our impact, striving to create safe, connected, diverse and thriving communities. Our vision and purpose drive us to enable healing, hope, and meaningful impact across all generations, ensuring that the voice of the child remains at the centre of our work. Our services span across the wider Central Highlands Region, with offices and support locations from Bacchus Marsh to Ararat, to Daylesford, with our head office located in the heart of Ballarat. Our dedicated team actively support in excess of 44 programs.
