Originally established in 2003, German-speaking Aged Services Association (GSASA) serves older members of the German-speaking community of Adelaide. We provide services Metro-wide such as seniors groups including transport and meals, minor in-home support, and information and advice for seniors and carers. We are funded through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and Counselling, Support, Information and Advocacy (CSIA) for Carers programme. Our aim is to assist seniors and their carers to retain their independence and live as well as possible according to their own choices. We understand as persons age, their culture and heritage often become even more important. The majority of our staff and volunteers are German-speaking, and within our community a person is more than a number!
