Blackwood Environment Centre

The Blackwood Environment Centre (BEC), is a community hub established to promote sustainable living, environmental education, and resource sharing. A key part of the Centre is The Blackwood Library of Things (BLoT) that helps community members reduce consumption and waste by encouraging the sharing of tools, appliances, and equipment through the Blackwood Library of Things. BEC provides access to local recycling information and collects hard-to-recycle items such as batteries, light globes, small electronics, and more. This service is free and aims to make responsible disposal easier for the community.BEC offers advice and practical support for people wanting to live more sustainably—whether they are just starting or well along their journey. Friendly volunteers are available to help with information and referrals. BEC promotes broader environmental action by hosting information sessions, campaigns, and networking opportunities.
