The Lions Club of the City of Adelaide is part of Lions Clubs International — the world’s largest community service organisation. We’re a team of passionate volunteers who believe in making a real difference, right here in our city and beyond. For more than 60 years, our club has brought together people from all walks of life to serve the community with kindness, compassion, and action. Whether it’s lending a hand to those in need, supporting local charities, or running projects that make life a little brighter, we’re proud to live by our motto: “We Serve.” What We Do Our club is involved in a wide range of community initiatives, including: Supporting the vulnerable – through partnerships with organisations like the Hutt St Centre and Fred’s Van, providing food, comfort, and care to those doing it tough. Health and wellbeing projects – from raising funds for childhood cancer research and supporting diabetes awareness to promoting eye health and mental wellbeing. Community care and creativity – through projects like the Hear Me Roar! Project, which provides handmade items such as heart cushions, stoma covers, port pillows etc. for patients in hospital, and children in foster car, and providing books for disadvantaged youth across South Australia. Environmental and youth initiatives – including tree planting, youth literacy programs, and leadership opportunities that help young people grow and thrive, including our school based Cubs Club program. Fundraising with purpose – like our famous Lions Christmas Cakes and Puddings, and BBQs, which raise vital funds for local and national causes. Why Join Us? Volunteering with the Lions Club of the City of Adelaide means joining a welcoming group of community-minded people who love to help others, make new friends, and have fun doing it. Whether you can give a few hours here and there or get involved more regularly, there’s always a way to contribute and make a positive impact. We are a diverse, inclusive and family-friendly club with members of all ages. Together, we’re building a stronger, kinder Adelaide — one project, one person, and one good deed at a time.
