Susan Helyar

Susan Helyar joined as an Individual Member in October 2025, and joined as a Board Director at the 2025 AGM. Susan founded Helyar & Co, a company that works with for-purpose and volunteer-involving organisations to strengthen their impact. We do this by working together to assess the strategic appetite and opportunity to achieve change, and by discerning the operational capacity and readiness to lead and implement change. We work with internal and external stakeholders to scope your agenda, agree your priorities for investment and plan implementation. Our consulting services are tailored to organisation needs and context and include strategic planning, operational reviews, organisation and workforce development. Susan has worked at VolunteeringACT as interim CEO, while Jean was on parental leave, and has collaborated with VolunteeringACT during her previous role as CEO of ACTCOSS.
