St Mary's Sharks Basketball Club Inc.

The Sharks are part of the Diamond Valley Basketball Association (DVBA) and are one of the largest clubs in the association, with approximately 420 players across 52 teams. From Under 8s through to Under 20s, our focus is on developing the skills of our players, teaching them to respect the game and all those involved and, most importantly, having fun! Our club prides itself on fostering a strong culture, being family-friendly and heavily involved with the local community. We look forward to welcoming any new players into the Sharks family! The St Mary’s Basketball Club was started in 1981, as two girls’ teams, by Mrs Jean Phillips. They chose the colour sky blue for their teams. When the boys’ teams were started it was felt the dark blue would be a better look for the boys. The Club has since expanded to over 50 teams of boys and girls participating in the Northern Junior Basketball League. In 1988 the Shark was chosen as the club logo. Until this time, the uniform was plain blue with light numbers for the boys and light blue with dark numbers for the girls
