Brunswick Tool Library is a volunteer-led non-profit initiative based in Brunswick, Victoria, that provides the tools and education needed to repair, care for, and build on your home and belongings. We run a Circular Economy model where paying members can borrow a wide variety of household, DIY, gardening, and craft tools, and then return them to us for ongoing maintenance and safe storage. We believe everyone deserves the right to build and repair the things they own, not just those who can afford the tools. Being volunteer led means that we have grown a team of individuals aligned by their passion for community connection and environmental sustainability rather than their skillset or formal training. Our volunteer base is diverse in age, culture, professional background, and socio-economic factors. The Brunswick Tool Library operates in accordance with its core values: Collaboration: we learn from each other and work together to make things possible. Empowerment: we build skills, confidence, and community capacity. Inclusion: everyone is welcome and supported to participate, building connection through shared curiosity and learning. Respect: for each other, our community, and the resources we share. Sustainability: we reduce waste, repair what we can, and support a culture of reuse.
