Medina Residents Group
The Medina Residents Group (MRG) is a non profit voluntary group that was formed in 2005 in response to the Town of Kwinana’s proposed housing developments on public open space. Since this time the group has been successful in lobbying the local government to develop residential guidelines specific for Medina and in May 2007 the suburb was declared a Historic Precinct by the National Trust in recognition of the suburb’s unique social, natural and built heritage. The MRG works towards positive change for the community with a particular focus on housing development that is sustainable and enhances the existing character of Medina. The group coordinate and are involved in a range of activities focused on Medina including: the Medina Heritage Walk, Chalk Hill bush care, the Medina Community Festival and the Medina produce feast.
