The Australian Army Cadets (AAC) is a nationally recognised youth development organisation and a proud partnership between the Australian Army and local communities across Australia. The program is not a military recruitment pathway – its purpose is to build leadership, resilience, teamwork and life skills in young Australians aged 12–18 in a safe, structured and inclusive environment.
While the Australian Army provides resources, equipment and governance, the program is delivered locally by trained adult volunteers, known as Army Cadet Staff (ACS), who come from a wide range of civilian backgrounds.
