The German Club Cairns is a long-standing cultural organisation that has been part of Far North Queensland since 1971. Founded by German migrants seeking a place to meet, speak their language and share traditions, the club has grown into a welcoming community hub for people of all backgrounds. Today we celebrate German, Austrian and Swiss (DACH) culture through food, music, dance, language, games and social connection. Every Friday night we open our doors with authentic German meals, imported German beers, themed entertainment and a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Our venue also hosts a wide range of cultural activities including Skat and Rummikub groups, conversational German meet-ups, and our Kids junior dance group, where children learn traditional Bavarian and Tyrolean folk dances such as the Schuplattler and cowbell ringing. We proudly support multicultural engagement in Cairns, regularly collaborating with other cultural communities.
