Bikes for Refugees SA Incorporated

We are a small, not for profit, registered charity, Charity Recycling Organisation specialising in bicycles and e-bikes. We use these to help refugees re settling in Adelaide, with their transport needs We operate a small bike workshop in Marryatville, 4 km E of Adelaide CBD. Adelaide Community Bicycle Workshop - open 4 days a week, handling 25-40 donated bikes a week, throughout the year. Volunteers check repair and test donated bikes, to make sure they are safe to ride. We then hand them on to refugees and others in hardship, people referred to us by welfare organisations, for assistance with transport needs.. We also run a Saturday Morning Bike Market, selling surplus bikes to raise funds. These cover our costs, and support refugee charities in Australia and overseas. Our volunteers are keen cyclists, with experience in bike repair. (You don't have to be a qualified mechanic). More information - look us up at www.acnc.gov.au
