Women’s Legal Service Tasmania (WLST) is a not-for-profit community service within the legal assistance sector. We are a feminist service with an objective to empower women (including all those who identify as women and non-binary and choose to engage our service) and deliver services with a trauma informed approach. We are mainly funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments and have operated in Lutruwita/Tasmania for 30 years. A statewide service, we have offices in Burnie, Launceston and Nipaluna/Hobart. WLST has a dedicated staff of over thirty across the state including lawyers, social workers and financial counsellors, and a committed group of volunteer members of the Board.
