Traumatised people are 15 times more likely to commit suicide, have depression and employment challenges, be more at risk of taking drugs and misusing alcohol. angelhands is a for purpose non-religious organisation providing recovery from extreme trauma to more than 300 West Australians a year. People often come to angelhands long after the crisis is over, when other professionals, family and friends have left and life doesn't go back to 'normal' and they are struggling to recover. Our services ensure people who have been people experiencing extreme trauma (including that involving violence) receive the professional counselling, support and other relevant services they see as appropriate to assist them in their recovery from trauma, rebuild their self-confidence and enable them to take their place in the community.
