Read Write Now (Swan)

Read Write Now is a community-based volunteer organisation that has operated in Western Australia since 1977. Volunteer tutors provide free one-to-one assistance to adults wanting to improve their reading, writing, spelling, maths and basic computer skills. After participating in a stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable training program, volunteer tutors are matched with a student who they meet 1 to 2 hours per week at a local library or community centre. Tutoring sessions focus on student's individual specific needs and goals. The Read Write Now program is for adults aged 18 years and over who are permanent residents and have lived in Australia for more than 10 years. Support and ongoing professional development are offered through the local Coordinator and Central office.
