Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) - Greek Speaking Volunteer - Home Visit

The Multicultural Communities Council of SA (MCCSA) is welcoming enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers from diverse cultural backgrounds to join our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS). You’ll offer friendship and companionship to an older person, helping reduce their loneliness and social isolation. This flexible and rewarding opportunity is perfect for working, studying, or retired people—and it's a beautiful way to give back to the community. Key Details:

• Age: Volunteers must be 18 years or older
• Commitment: At least 20 visits per year (about one hour every fortnight)
• Activities: Share stories over a cup of tea, go for a walk, or enjoy a hobby together
• No personal care involved: Volunteers do not assist with meals, finances, advocacy, or personal care
• Centrelink approved: This role meets mutual obligation requirements for those aged 55+

What we’re looking for:

• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication (especially listening)
• Respect, kindness, reliability, and a non-judgmental attitude
• Flexibility and the ability to follow boundaries, policies, and procedures
• Most importantly, a genuine enjoyment of spending time with older people
