Joining and being part of a walking group is a social, fun, and easy way for people to walk and stay active. With more than one in four Australian adults doing very little or no exercise at all, Heart Foundation Walking is a great way to help people increase their physical activity. Do you want to take an active role in helping members of your community to improve their physical health and mental wellbeing? Below is an outline of what the role entails:  Complete online training via video at your own pace.  Undertake a National Police History Check (cost is covered by the Heart Foundation).  Set up a walking group or help run an existing one.  Plan a safe walking route.  Promote the walk and attract new walkers.  Attend walks and welcome new walkers.  Submit attendance logs online so we can reward you and your walkers at key milestones.  Report any health and safety (physical or wellbeing) concerns that arise on walks. Full support and guidance on this given.  Maintain the privacy of group participant personal information.
