It is desirable that the successful applicant can commit to the role for a minimum of 6 months and approximately 3 hours per week to maximise the benefits of experience and training in the role. Days & times to suit your availability.

The primary responsibilities of this role are: -:

  • Answering telephone calls promptly and courteously
  • Responding to enquiries in an efficient and timely manner by phone or email
  • Send out loan application packs to prospective borrowers via mail or email
  • Assist applicants in collecting and checking their loan application documents
  • Support general office duties as needed
  • Entering information into the specialised NILS software, MyNILSapp
  • Help manage diaries, including booking and following up on client loan interview appointments.
  • Help support the promotion of the NILs program within the community
  • Respect client confidentiality and adhere to Good Shepherd Australia & New Zealand and the Society’s policies and procedures.

Ideally you will have the following experience or attributes :-

• Proficient computer skills, including in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Outlook and MS Word)

• An understanding of financial concepts is advantageous, but no required

• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

• Ability to build rapport with the program’s low-income applicants and service them with respect, empathy

• Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate at different levels to meet the broad range of applicants

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Good time management, with an organised approach to your work
