Community Bus Driver

The City of West Torrens is looking for volunteers to help with its social and community transport programs. This service provides transport to shopping centres and various locations and attractions around metropolitan Adelaide.

As a volunteer driver you would assist on a casual basis with driving residents to various locations and assist with relief driving when other volunteers are on leave.

Our drivers help people who are transport disadvantaged to access community activities, shopping centres and programs.

Applicants are required to have a minimum current C Class car licence and excellent driving skills. This is all that is needed to drive the 12-seater buses transporting clients of the Community Bus Service. First Aid and Manual Handling training will be provided to ensure you are confident in any situation.

By providing this service you will be supporting our clients to:

• access transport to and from shopping centres
• when needed, help by carrying shopping for clients to their front door if requested
• assist residents to attend social activities, thereby enhancing people's quality of life.

DCSI (Aged Care) Screening Check.

One bus only requires a car (class C) licence; the other requires a light rigid (LR) licence.
