Safety Bay Library - Housebound Services Volunteer

Deliver and collect library materials for housebound city residents and provide some welcoming company, ongoing communication with Coordinator Housebound Services regarding client's wellbeing, ongoing communication with clients regarding library requests and general satisfaction with materials supplied, assist with minor library tasks if required, loading/unloading library materials from library car (trolley provided).You must have a happy and caring disposition and be able to converse freely with people. Previous experience driving a mini-van or a vehicle other than a car is desirable.

Requirements

Driver's Licence (C)
Heavy Lifting
National Police Certificate

Undertake training and development as required, attend volunteer meetings as required, maintain safe work practices in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health legislation and Council Policies, follow established procedures, where possible provide minimum of 24 hours notice when unable to attend rostered shift. Follow all road rules, check vehicle on return to Council compound, report any damage that may have occurred during travel times to Coordinator House Services. Drivers licence essential, excellent customer service skills, friendly and able to relate well with people of any age, social or cultural background, non-judgemental, reliable, punctual and able to take initiative, able to work with limited supervision.
