Laundry Assistant Volunteer - Townsville

The position involves assisting in the laundry with washing, pressing and labelling residents’ clothing.
It also involves returning laundered clothes to the residents and placing items in their wardrobes.

This role requires the ability to:

• Engage with elderly residents.
• Work in a laundry following workplace health and safety instructions.

Volunteer characteristics include: Personable, Sociable, Caring, Good listener, Communicator, Reasonably fit and Energetic.

A current national police check is mandatory. A three hour workplace orientation must be undertaken prior to beginning volunteer work. Support is provided for the completion of required online modules if needed.
It is expected that following a successful orientation, volunteers will commit to working 4 hrs in the morning. Mature aged Centrelink recipients are encouraged to apply.
