Canteen Manager - Townsville

As the Canteen Manager, you'll be at the heart of our canteen operations during home games and special events. In addition to overseeing day-to-day canteen functions, you’ll also be responsible for cooking and preparing meals for our Thursday night feeds – a dinner event held during and after training.

Volunteer Qualities

Willingness to assist the club in food safety regulations and compliance.

Hold a current Food Safety Certificate or be willing to acquire one.

Hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children) or be able to obtain one.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities:

Menu & Stock Management:

Develop an appealing menu and manage canteen supplies, ensuring all items meet quality and hygiene standards.

Liaise with suppliers to secure quality produce and timely deliveries.

Food Safety & Compliance:

Assist the club in understanding and adhering to Townsville City Council (TCC) food safety regulations.

Support the club in maintaining hygiene and food handling standards to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Help prepare for and meet the requirements of food safety inspections by ensuring proper record-keeping, temperature monitoring, and cleanliness protocols are followed.

Team Coordination:

Organise and schedule a team to cover canteen duties during game days and club events.

Provide clear guidance and support to ensure everyone knows their responsibilities.

Operational Oversight:

Supervise daily canteen operations to guarantee a smooth, efficient service.

Address any issues promptly, ensuring our supporters always enjoy a positive experience.

Thursday Night Feed Preparation:

Cook and prepare meals for our Thursday night feeds, ensuring the dinner service during and after training runs smoothly and meets quality standards.

Budget & Order Management:

Assist with budgeting, placing orders, and tracking expenses to maintain cost efficiency.

Support the Executive Team:

Help ease the workload for our executive team by taking full ownership of canteen operations and suggesting improvements where possible.
