Position description:
Doutta Galla Aged Services is seeking friendly and reliable volunteers to support residents at our aged care facility in Avondale Heights. Volunteers work alongside the Lifestyle team to enhance residents’ quality of life through social connection, activities, and meaningful engagement.
You will be supported by the Lifestyle Coordinator and can choose activities that suit your interests, skills, and availability. There is flexibility to be creative and contribute in ways that feel comfortable and rewarding for you.
Some of the other things our volunteers choose to do:
- Accompanying outings
- Running games and activities
- Teaching art and craft
- Running book clubs
- Shopping
- Providing music and entertainment
- Men’s shed activities
- Gardening
- Fundraising
Skills required:
- Friendly, patient, and respectful communication style
- Willingness to engage with older people
- Reliability and openness to working as part of a team
- No specific experience required, training and support provided
Time required:
- Flexible and negotiable.
- Regular commitment preferred.
Other requirements:
- National Police Check (can be arranged through the organisation)
- Participation in an induction and orientation process
