The core role of the Community Visitor is to safeguard the interests and rights of vulnerable people who have a disability and are living in eligible services. Community Visitors do this by identifying and reporting issues and problems from the perspective of the individual resident and by referring these for resolution within the service system.

Role description: Volunteers work in pairs and visit accommodation facilities in the local area. Enquiring into the welfare and care of residents or patients ensuring that their dignity and human rights are being upheld. At the conclusion of the visit you will be required to write a brief report detailing your findings.

Volunteer duties: Speaking to residents or patients to find out if they have any issues or concerns. Contributing to a visit report and summarising the findings from the visit.
