Social Pet Therapy Visiting - Metro and regional locations
Advertised by Volunteering SA&NT
Our residents can really miss their family pets when they come and live in our Aged Care as they cannot bring their pets. Pet Therapy social support visiting brings such joy and companionship. They love to have a pat, a chit chat and reminisce about their family pets, the smiles are evident. Pets can be dogs of assorted breeds and will visit to assess their suitability.
We will arrange a meeting at site with our Wellbeing Consultant or Volunteer Program coordinator. There are requirements around hygiene, grooming, safety of residents, animals' personality and behaviours, as well as current immunisation that is mandatory for pet visiting. Your visit can be as little as an hour or two and bring such joy to others' lives. We would love to chat further if you are interested in finding out more.
