If you love the idea of practical conservation, fresh air, and seeing wildlife return to where it belongs, the Box Installation Team might be your perfect fit! This is hands-on, meaningful work — scouting great habitat, selecting the perfect tree, and installing nest boxes that will soon become home to a rehabilitated possum. There’s nothing quite like knowing that the box you secured today could shelter generations of wildlife. It’s a role that blends teamwork, problem-solving, and a bit of adventure — all while directly supporting successful releases and giving our possums the very best start back in the wild.
To join the team, you’ll need a vehicle with roof racks (to transport the ladder provided by SOWFI), and a willingness to follow all safety requirements — including using the harness and hard hat supplied. Safety is non-negotiable, and we’ll make sure you’re fully equipped and supported. Installations usually take place 3–4 days per month, meeting carers onsite and installing the box with the possums ready for their next chapter.
