Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • be reliable and friendly
  • ability to converse with a range of personalities & cultural backgrounds
  • outgoing and flexible
  • good communication skills
  • understand client risk
  • patient, non-judgemental and non-discriminatory.
  • have an understanding of Occupational Health and Safety

Desirable:

  • experience working with aged people
  • a background in healthcare or experience in understanding dementia
  • active interest in music & entertainment

Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • be willing to undertake the checks and training required
  • attend information sessions relevant to the role
  • work with vulnerable persons of all abilities
  • perform tasks with minimal supervision
  • exercise strict confidentiality
  • understand professional boundaries
  • be risk averse
  • be punctual
  • present appropriately as you are a representative of Wimmera Health Care Group.
  • negotiate times/days with the Leisure and Lifestyle Team Leader
  • volunteers will sign in on each shift.

WHCG Volunteers are required to complete a three-month probation period from when they start in this position and yearly reviews.
