Puppy Carers in the City of Knox

Vision Australia, Seeing Eye Dogs

Advertised by Volunteer for Knox

Role title: Puppy Carers - Seeing Eye Dogs Australia and Volunteer for Knox are seeking puppy carers in the City of Knox

Experience the joy of raising one of our special puppies and helping someone who is blind or has low vision live an independent life.

As a Puppy Carer, you will welcome a puppy into your home from around 8 weeks of age until they are approximately 12–15 months old. You get to experience the joy of looking after an adorable puppy —without the costs—while making a truly meaningful difference.

With support from a Puppy Development Trainer, you’ll be guided to teach basic obedience, house manners, eating and toileting routines, socialisation in a range of environments (such as cafes, shopping centres and cinemas), and relaxed lead walking.

You’ll receive ongoing support through regular check-ins, home visits and training sessions in locations close to you.

Puppy caring is an incredibly rewarding volunteer role, and our organisation simply couldn’t do what we do without the dedication of our Puppy Carers.
